Approximately 240,000 businesses use Magento, the popular open-source content management system, to drive their websites. Only about 85 percent of those companies, however, have mobile platforms, and in a time when mobile commerce is rapidly growing, these businesses are finding themselves left behind their mobile-ready competitors.

In response to this situation, e-commerce solutions provider Warp9 has created WarpMobile Magento, its service for converting desktop sites into easily-manageable mobile sites. The official announcement says Warp 9 will be working closely with Magento to help its new and existing clients build mobile sites that meet their specific needs, and allow them to increase their revenue. Warp 9 CEO, Andrew Van Noy, spoke in more depth about his company's new offering:

"Warp 9 has identified an immense market opportunity to become the leading Magento mobile solutions provider," Van Noy said. "Magento's impressive growth has resulted in our Magento mobile commerce solutions group receiving enormous interest in powerful, affordable, and efficient mobile solutions that don't require rebuilding the desktop website and don't take months to build."

Offered in three distinct tiers -- Express, Pro, and Enterprise -- WarpMobile offers businesses a range of design layouts, product catalogue sharing, inventory and fulfillment controls, and mobile checkouts that work with PayPal (News - Alert), Braintree, or custom payment solutions. Depending on the tier, packages may also include desktop extensions, mobile extensions, quality assurance testing, and mobile analytics.

The Warp 9 website says businesses can make responsive design changes that affect mobile user experiences, without altering their desktop sites. Businesses can also expect their mobile and desktop sites to share the same product catalogues. In that case, changes to a product on a desktop site can automatically update on a mobile site, so admins do not have to worry about making twice the number of alterations. Finally, WarpMobile works distinctly with the PayPal and Braintree payment systems to provide businesses' customers with simple checkout methods.

Everything from the site designs to WarpMobile's integration with inventory, payment, catalogue, CRM systems, and other underlying processes intend to let businesses focus on critical functions and allow their customers streamlined e-commerce experiences.
