Robocoin has started rollout for its newest product called Robocoin Wallet that aims to make Bitcoin more accessible and approachable for newcomers and the under-banked population.
The company, which invented the Bitcoin ATM, launched the digital wallet within its global kiosk network with the intention of limiting the barriers that kept Bitcoin adoption confined to only those technologically inclined.
Upon unveiling the world's first Bitcoin ATM in Vancouver, the team at Robocoin realized that customers had to have prior knowledge about the form of currency and were required to download a digital wallet, protect their private keys from hackers, and have an understating of alphanumeric public addresses. Moreover, Bitcoin wallets and exchanges didn't offer much flexibility as it takes days to confirm a new account, a bank account is required to add funds, bitcoins that are purchased take days to arrive and there's no way to instantly cash-out bitcoins.
“We removed all external dependencies,” Robocoin CEO Jordan Kelly said in a statement. “By integrating the Robocoin Wallet to our global kiosk network, anyone can walk up to a Robocoin Branch and obtain a beautifully powerful Bitcoin Wallet on the spot – no confusing private keys, no downloads and no cryptography expertise required."
Bank accounts have been eliminated from the process and customers can now instantly buy, sell, store and send bitcoins.
The Robocoin Wallet will aid in global remittance, wealth management and commerce. Not only is Robocoin's free and instant remittance faster and cheaper than Western Union (News - Alert), but it also provides secure wealth management for the under-banked. Additionally, customers that use it are able to travel around with less cash, access additional cash beyond their daily ATM limits, skip currency-conversions and shop at merchants that accept Bitcoin either online or in-person.
Customers don't need to worry about how secure the wallet is since accounts are protected by multi-factor authentication and multi-sig architecture.
This week the rollout for the Robocoin Wallet will take place at Robocoin branches in the Californian cities of Mountain View and Los Angeles as well as Las Vegas, Nevada. It will be soon be available around the world, as well as online at Robocoin's website.
