Good technology isn't just the kind of technology we want to use; it's also the name of a company. Good Technology (News - Alert), a company that produces solutions for secure mobility, has made a new platform available called Good Work, which is an enterprise mobility management (EMM) solution that allows its users access to mobile productivity applications safely within a company's ecosystem. The product is an all-in-one mobile management suite that brings all of the applications business users need into one single platform.
Good Work can be run from the cloud or on-premises managed solution that allows users to securely access email, messaging applications, contacts, a calendar, documents, and browsing.
Christy Wyatt, chairman and CEO of Good Technology, says that Good Work is the company's response to BYOD. “As adoption of BYOD continues to explode,” she said, “businesses of all sizes are looking for simpler, more manageable, more affordable and more secure solutions to address the complexity of dealing with hundreds — if not thousands of device types and operating systems. Good Work enables both large and mid-size businesses with an intuitive cloud-based solution, making it simple and affordable to harness the power of security mobility to drive new business processes.”
I cannot stress enough, however, that it's also important to set up a proactive and clearly-defined BYOD policy in any company that will work next to the software. Coupled with a proper security policy, tools like Good Work will prevent any enterprise from becoming a victim of the next big breach. Many of the large-scale breaches we have seen in the past few months were completely preventable. It takes good measures and solutions like Good Work to make sure that this doesn't happen.
Perhaps the most positive thing that Good Work brings is an interface akin to other cloud-based products, which simplifies the process of configuring the solution for use with all of a company's employees.
