Decades back, Madonna declared that this is a “Material World;” today I must take umbrage, as while sure, material things are nice, but in today’s enterprise or campus it’s all about the network – namely the need for multi-gigabit Ethernet.  Organizations today require a modern network to support the influx of cloud-based, Saasy applications, content delivery and general operational needs. With the weekend upon us, there’s no better time than the present to take a look at the week that was in multi-gigabit Ethernet news: Time for the Week in Review!

Aquantia (News - Alert) and its two new NICs – the AQN 107 and AQN 108 – led off the news this week. Over the past few years, multi-gigabit Ethernet has continued to build momentum, and the NBASE-T Alliance’s founding member is providing network modernization and high-performance at a fraction of the cost of abandoning infrastructure in place and starting from scratch. Find out all the details HERE.

Abaco Systems unveiled the NETernity SWE440 3U VPX 10/40 gigabit Ethernet switch, which leverages system on a chip technology, can support up to eight 40 gigabit Ethernet ports, up to 10 32 gigabit Ethernet ports or any permutation of the two. TMC’s (News - Alert) Paula Bernier brings you everything you need to know HERE.

The Ethernet Alliance announced that it will be hosting the next IEEE (News - Alert) 802.3 interim meeting for the sixth year in a row. The meeting will showcase IEEE 802.3 Ethernet technologies and standards scheduled to hit the open market over the course of the next 18 months. Taking place May 22-26 in New Orleans, the event is sure to offer some key industry insight. Complete coverage is HERE.

This week, Lightwave Logic held its shareholder meeting, where the conversation was led by CEO Dr. Michael Leddy and revolved around fiber optics and the ability to provide high performing network solutions to support growing requirements. TMC’s Andrew Bindelglass offers insight and analysis HERE.

Remember to stop by early and often for all things multi-gigabit Ethernet. See you next week!
