NETGEAR Expands 300 Series Gigabit Ethernet Switches with More Ports
May 25, 2017
A reliable network with high bandwidth capacity is a must in today's digital business ecosystem. Whether it is a home office, a SMB or a large enterprise, this network connectivity makes it possible to access resources within and outside of the organization. Ethernet switches further divide the connection so more people and devices can be connected. And with the right switch, the traffic within the organization can be optimized without sacrificing network bandwidth and speed. More ports have been added to NETGEAR's GS300 “Business Essentials” Series Gigabit Ethernet Unmanaged Switches, allowing users to easily increase their connectivity with plug-and-play capability for up to 48 ports.
NETGEAR creates wired and wireless devices for networking, broadband access and network connectivity using wireless (Wi-Fi and LTE (News - Alert)), Ethernet and powerline designed for ease of use and reliability. The expansion of its GS300 “Business Essentials” Series Gigabit Ethernet Unmanaged Switches includes a new 48-port switch and Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) capable 5-port switch. This is in addition to the 5-port, 8-port, 8-port PoE, 16-port and 24-port options that are in the 300 Series of switches.
The NETGEAR SOHO Ethernet Unmanaged Switches have been designed by the company to provide small and home/offices an easy to use device that doesn't require network specialists, is affordable, rugged and provides multiple features. These switches support Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) for supplying power and data, as well as Plug-and-Play for expanding network connections easily to multiple devices without any configuration.
The GS300 Series offers Fast Ethernet and gigabit Ethernet connectivity with non-blocking switching architecture for maximum throughput at wire speed, while at the same time providing auto-negotiation for automatic connection at the highest common speed between switch and an end device.
The GS348 can expand the network of a business to 48 ports, with up to 96Gbps of maximum throughput to avoid congestion and eliminate bottlenecks. The pre-configured Quality of Service (QoS) automatically prioritizes voice and video over data.
The GS305P is a five port unit for homes and small offices with Power-over-Ethernet for connecting VoIP phones, cameras, sensors and other Internet of Things (IoT) devices.
“NETGEAR understands the importance of providing a high-performance network that can adapt to requirements now and in the future. Many growing businesses, and certainly home offices, don’t have a dedicated IT specialist so there is a need for a solution that makes it supremely easy to add more connections and support new PoE devices,” said Richard Jonker, vice president of product line management for SMB products at NETGEAR.
All switches are now available globally.
