Several tier 1 ODMs and OEMs have adopted the Cavium Inc. 10/25/50/100Gbps Ethernet network interface cards, according to the semiconductor product company. These Cavium partners, the supplier says, deliver hyperscale cloud platforms to tier 1 customers around the world.

This product line includes a range of solutions in variety of form factors. That includes entry level LOM solutions. It also features high end converged network interface card solutions.

The FastLinQ QL45000 adapters with Universal RDMA, Cavium says, “are the industry's only NIC (News - Alert) family that delivers the technology choice and investment protection with support for concurrent RoCE, RoCEv2 and iWARP.”

The FastLinQ Ethernet technology from Cavium was designed to do acceleration of and offloading for a range of business-critical applications. That includes applications involving artificial intelligence, big data, CDN, hyperscale storage, and machine learning in cloud and telco data centers.

"Cavium is seeing significantly increased adoption at major OEMs and ODMs which is a testament to the performance, features and competitiveness of our FastLinQ family of NICs," said Christopher Moezzi, Vice President of Marketing for the Ethernet Adapter Group at Cavium.

According to Moezzi, Cavium has broad selection of Ethernet NIC solutions from 10Gbps to 100Gbps in a wide variety of form factors.

“We provide customers with innovative, high performance solutions, delivering flexibility in choice of RDMA and cost savings for next-generation cloud, Web 2.0, storage, and telco data centers," he said.

The company’s storage acceleration supports a variety of protocols, including NVMe Over Fabrics.

"NVMe Over Fabrics will radically change Storage and Networking paradigms in next generation datacenter and cloud architectures," said Robert Chin, General Manager of ASUS Server Business Unit. "Close collaboration with Cavium on Ethernet RDMA Fabrics for scaling out NVMe enables us to expand our addressable market, with increased performance and offloads delivered by FastLinQ 25GbE NICs, particularly for hyperscale cloud customers."
