Network requirements are growing at a rapid rate. Thanks to a growing IoT presence, our SaaSy reality and digital transformation (in general), more is demanded of networks than ever before. This is driving a movement toward network modernization and multi-gigabit Ethernet. And, with the weekend upon us, there’s no better time than the present to take a look back at the week that was in multi-gigabit Ethernet news: Time for the Week in Review!

NEXCOM led the multi-gigabit news for the week with the release of its new family of 100 gigabit Ethernet local area network modules, the NC 220Q28M and the NC 220Q28M2. The new releases promise to come at a reasonable price point, while delivering improved network performance. TMC’s Paula Bernier (News - Alert) has everything you need to know HERE.

HPE made headlines this week with the arrival of the new Synergy480 and 660 Gen10 (News - Alert) compute modules, powered by Cavium’s FastLinQ Ethernet 25/50GbE technology. "The ability to provide high-performance 25/50Gb Ethernet connectivity within HPE Synergy (News - Alert), the industry's first platform for composable infrastructure, enables our customers to greatly improve application performance and virtual machine scalability, while significantly reducing hardware and management complexity,” said Tom Lattin, vice president of server options for Hewlett Packard Enterprise. Complete coverage is HERE.

Lancaster County, Penn, announced that it is using Aviat (News - Alert) Networks’ IRU microwave platform to upgrade its public safety network, ensuring Ethernet technology is in tip top condition. "As first responders demand high speed broadband communications, mission critical networks require upgrades," states Michael Pangia, president and CEO of Aviat Networks. "With the use of advanced technology such as the IRU 600, state and local governments can deliver seamless upgrades to support the next generation of public safety applications while lowering total cost of ownership." All the details are HERE.

Also on tap this week, Transition Networks (News - Alert) inc. announced the SISPM1040-384-LRT-C and SISPM-362-LRT hardened PoE+ switches to deploy Device Management System Technology. TMC’s Paula Bernier offers insight and analysis on the new releases HERE.

Remember to stop by early and often for all things multi-gigabit Ethernet. See you next week!
