MilesTek Means Business with Ruggedized Ethernet Offerings
September 07, 2017
As software defined solutions take flight it can be easy to forget about the “bones” of the network. In particular, I’m speaking of cables, switches, plugs, etc. Especially in today’s era of multi-gigabit Ethernet and network modernization, network performance in focus, it is mission critical to choose infrastructure wisely.
This week, MilesTek (News - Alert) unveiled a new series of IP68-rated industrial Ethernet assemblies, IP68 receptacles and IP68 plugs. The supplier and manufacturer of solutions meant to meet military and avionics application demand is certainly stepping up its game with this most recent announcement.
The IP68-rated Ethernet assemblies boast high-flex, double shielded, oil and UV resistant cable featuring a flame retardant thermoplastic elastomer jacket, which is CMX outdoor-rated – thus promising higher data transmission and faster Ethernet speeds.
As far as the IP68 receptacles go, they include MIL D38999 jam nut, flange mount, MIL and in-line jam nut styles. In addition, the recently released plugs provide choice: anodized finish or a zinc nickel finish to stand up to rough environments
All of the newly announced products are currently available and ready for shipment.
"Ethernet connectivity in extremely harsh environments is a reality for many of our customers, both military and industrial. We are proud to be able to offer such high quality, highly durable Ethernet connectivity products as off-the-shelf solutions to these challenges," said Mark Hearn, Product Manager.
With so much focus on connectivity, the cloud and digital transformation it is integral to have the appropriate components in place capable of supporting our multi-gigabit era.
