Network requirements are growing at a rapid rate. Thanks to a growing IoT presence, our SaaSy reality and digital transformation (in general), more is demanded of networks than ever before. This is driving a movement toward network modernization and multi-gigabit Ethernet. And, with the weekend upon us, there’s no better time than the present to take a look back at the week that was in multi-gigabit Ethernet news: Time for the Week in Review!

The best way to see how a solution performs is testing, and this week TMC’s Paula Bernier (News - Alert) offered insight into recent stress tests done by Wi-Fi solution provider, Ruckus. Ruckus notes its mid-range 802.11ac R610 was the only access point that maintained stall-free video delivery in both tests: 30 video clients and 30 data clients, 60 video clients and one data client. "Ruckus is committed to ensuring the highest quality of experience for each user, regardless of traffic type," said Greg Beach, vice president of wireless products at Ruckus, which is a business unit of Brocade (News - Alert). Complete coverage is HERE.

Speaking of Wi-FI, Huawei (News - Alert) is enabling 10gpbs 802.11ax Wi-Fi networks, and some are referring to it as a game changer. “Existing Wi-Fi standards will not meet the forthcoming access requirements for large-scale IoT deployment scenarios,” said Nolan Greene, IDC (News - Alert) Senior Research Analyst. Everything you need to know is HERE.

NETGEAR joined the Wi-Fi hit parade this week, with NETGEAR Insight – its plug-and-play management tool for Wi-Fi storage devices, switches and access points. Updates are delivered through firmware, and one can easily manage network operations via mobile app. TMC’s (News - Alert) Paula Bernier brings you all the details HERE.

Remember to stop by early and often for all things multi-gigabit Ethernet. See you next week!
