It was a busy week in the Network Management sector. Here are some of the major stories from TMCnet.

TMCnet’s Rachel Ramsey reported how many organizations’ IT infrastructure generate a huge number of logs daily, with vital information that can provide  insights and network security intelligence into user behaviors, network anomalies, system downtime, policy violations, internal threats and regulatory compliance.

But analyzing these event logs and syslogs without automated log analyzer tools can be time-consuming. There is an option with Zoho Corporation’s ManageEngine. Its EventLog Analyzer is log analytics and IT compliance reporting software that is both economical and efficient. Organizations can automate the entire process of managing terabytes of machine-generated logs by collecting, analyzing, searching, reporting and archiving from one central location.

In another story, Acquia recently selected AppNeta's TraceView Application Performance Management solution to improve and optimize Drupal’s Web application speed and performance.

Also, Qatar Telecom has selected Mariner’s IP video service, a monitoring solution designed for integration with IPTV (News - Alert) probes. This is the first time that the Mariner xVu is deployed in the Middle East, and will be used for Qtel's Mozaic TV service.

In addition, ADVA Optical Networking recently launched the FSP 150SP, a sync probe device which simplifies deployment and maintenance of 4G mobile networks. The device features a Precision Time Protocol clock probe that supports Synchronous Ethernet and IEEE (News - Alert) 1588v2, as well as a GPS receiver. This allows the FSP 150SP to let backhaul service providers to offer synchronization as a service, which has not been possible previously.

And General Dynamics Broadband’s OKL4 Microvisor software development kit (SDK) now supports the Xilinx (News - Alert) Zynq-7000 All Programmable SoC devices, the companies announced. The OKL4 Microvisor is an embedded virtualization platform for mobile security and automotive applications. It provides defense-grade security for mission-critical software and sensitive data against destructive program code and other malware. It is also used in the aerospace market.
