Marketers today are well aware that Black Friday and Cyber Monday (News - Alert) are perhaps the most important holiday shopping days. According to various sources, shoppers spent record amounts of money during Black Friday in 2011. This year, they will need to use every channel available to drive customers to their stores to maximize their reach.
Message Bus recently offered a look at what not to do during the holidays to ensure Black Friday (News - Alert) and Cyber Monday deliverability for the users.
Tips like spending the time and investigate the AOL Postmaster Site, and whitelisting IPs as well as setting up feedback loops with domains that offer these services, are just a few of the tips the company is offering to marketers this year.
“Good deliverability means doing the right things for the right reasons and having a backup plan," said Len Shneyder, Sr. Marketing Manager at Message Bus. "In order to be successful this holiday season, marketers have to leverage the totality of their customer data in meaningful ways. But data alone isn't enough, understanding the nuances involved in messaging across platforms and devices is crucial. The staggering volumes of email currently being launched must be tempered with a keen understanding of the underlying principles.”
Recently, the company announced it is providing a new reporting service named Discover, which allows companies to obtain brands’ visibility into email senders. These senders may be abusing their domain name for illegal or unauthorized purposes. By identifying the IP addresses that are using an organization's domain name for phishing or other activity, Discover offers reports and analytics.
