Cormant Publishes Study on DCIM Adoption and Implementation Barriers

Data Center Infrastructure System (DCIM) offers various benefits for companies. DCIM offers important information in setting up the proper infrastructure and data about cooling, power and network at the rack level assist companies to decide the optimum placement of new servers. Without this, data centers would have to depend on guesswork to make important decisions. 


Recently, Cormant has announced that because of the scarcity of information about the obstacles to DCIM adoption, companies still are not sure about buying and installing a DCIM solution. So, Cormant conducted a study to help IT and facilities teams that manage infrastructure within worldwide data center and enterprise environments.

In the last few years, experts have realized that the DCIM market needs an improved solution to manage IT infrastructure and supporting facilities infrastructure. DCIM is still a new process even for the IT world and a new solution that bridges the gap between IT and facilities management groups. In its study, Cormant included people within government, enterprise, educational, military and not-for-profit responsible to look at the procurement, installation and usage of DCIM.

Corman't’s DCIM solution provides unique mobility options and support Apple, Blackberry and Android (News - Alert) phone and tablet platforms. These are important to ensure that data center infrastructure information is always up-to-date. With this trust, Cormant-CS users can be really prepared to make use of the solution for future deployment and capacity planning.

Recently, the city of Concord, CA (News - Alert) chose Cormant’s DCIM solution. With this, the city looked to have improved inventory, document solutions and manage its IT assets. Along with more granular data and access to historical records, it also improves connectivity because of expected efficiency from certain work order management. Concord will be deploying the Cormant DCIM solution during the first quarter of 2013.
