RSA (News - Alert) Conference 2013, being held in San Francisco, February 25-March 1, 2013, will witness some rather interesting developments in the way privileged passwords are handled by enterprise IT and network divisions.

Significant, considering that improper management of passwords is very often considered the root cause of many security breaches.

Enterprise security has never been more complex and difficult, but never more essential. ManageEngine (News - Alert), the real-time IT management company, is currently demonstrating the Password Manager Pro’s new iPhone app, which promises to make data operations robust, efficient and secure enough to ensure data integrity.

The latest enhancements to its privileged password management solution lets IT security pros manage privileged passwords while on the go, while integrations with third-party apps streamline password management activities.

This helps IT organizations establish a more centralized and integrated privileged password management practice.

The iPhone (News - Alert) app is as secure as the Password Manager Pro installation, and uses the same AES-256 encryption. This helps users to securely store, manage and control access to shared sensitive information.

It optimizes ease-of-use without any risk to sensitive data.

Further, the iPhone app is guarded by an additional passphrase entered by the user. So if the device happens to go missing, passwords cannot be deciphered in plain text.

“IT and network administrators who physically move into datacenters require secure access to privileged passwords to login to resources,” said Rajesh Ganesan, director of product management at ManageEngine.

Another advantage is that users can access the privileged passwords even in the absence of an Internet connection. The iPhone app is so provisioned that it can synchronize passwords once users go online. This means administrators will always have access to the latest password.

Password Manager Pro is available as a Free Edition, Standard Edition and Premium Edition. Standard Edition prices start at $495 per year for two administrators. Premium Edition prices start at $1,195 per year for five administrators.

All editions can be downloaded from the ManageEngine website.

ManageEngine will demo Password Manager Pro, along with the rest of its IT security solutions portfolio, in booth 2641 at the event.

Recently, ManageEngine, the real-time IT management company, announced that its enterprise privileged password management solution, Password Manager Pro, added 45 percent more customers to its global customer base in 2012.
