ManageEngine (News - Alert), a real-time IT management company, has launched several new, critical mobile device management capabilities at Mobile World Congress (News - Alert). The new features were delivered as part of its MDM and desktop software, Desktop Central, and will aid IT organizations in mastering the newest mobile trends.

The “bring your own device” movement, unleashing applications and employee-owned devices on corporate networks, is one of these latest trends. ManageEngine will demonstrate Desktop Central at the Spain event from February 25-28 at Fira Gran Via, in Barcelona.

As mainstream enterprises are entering into a BYOD dominated era, the company continues to progress and evolve. Enterprise IT organizations find themselves under mounting pressure to respond to bandwidth, security, asset tracking and other issues associated with managing employee-owned as well as corporate-owned devices proactively and in real time.

Raj Sabhlok (News - Alert), president of ManageEngine said, “By just about every measure, mobile is exploding on the world stage, including the enterprise. As a result, we are seeing tremendous interest in basic as well as advanced MDM capabilities from enterprise IT organizations that want to get ahead and stay ahead of the mobile curve. We’ve invested quite a bit of development time in bolstering our core device management feature set as well as adding next-generation functionality such as BYOA and near field communication support.”

MDM features of desktop central include BYOD enhancements, BYOA capabilities, near-field communication support, android and iOS support, security management, asset management, and configuration management.  Desktop Central also offers a solution for IT workers that want just one console on which manage all of their end users, whether using traditional or mobile devices.

The newly available BYOA, NFC and BYOD functions are available for $10 per computer for the Desktop Central Professional Edition.
