It’s time to wrap up the news in network management for this week in April.

ManageEngine (News - Alert) dominates the headlines this week with three separate news items in network management.

First up is the announcement that it has added a new feature to its IT360 IT management solution. Enterprise search can now be utilized to search databases of any third party IT management or business application.

“For the past few years, Big Data has been the big industry buzzword, as companies attempt to mine the vast amounts of data they generate to make better business decisions — but we believe there are ‘Little Data’ opportunities too,” said Sridhar Iyengar, vice president of product management at ManageEngine, in a statement. “Enterprise search in IT360 is one example of ‘Little Data,’ which recognizes that valuable information is stored in structured or relational databases. This data is readily available and offers many of the benefits of Big Data solutions, without the major investment of time and resources by IT.”

The company also announced this week that its Site24X7, the cloud-based infrastructure monitoring service, now supports the all-in-one billing and client management platform from WHMCS.

What this means is that Web hosting and domain registration providers, IT service resellers and MSPs can use their existing WHMCS platform to quickly resell Site24x7 service to their customers.

"Infrastructure monitoring is moving to the cloud, and that's giving MSPs and other resellers exciting new value-added services to offer their customers," said Gibu K. Mathew, director of product management, Site24x7.com, in a statement.

Last but not least, ManageEngine added file integrity monitoring feature to its EventLog Analyzer, a solution that helps businesses analyze operations to prevent sensitive data from being compromised. It also helps with regulatory compliance.

“The file integrity monitoring capabilities of EventLog Analyzer help companies centralize control of their data across their IT infrastructure as well as comply with regulatory bodies,” said Chenthil Kumaran, product manager, ManageEngine. “By adding file integrity monitoring to our SIEM solution, we can help customers effectively mitigate complex security challenges and also enhance their network security posture with a single, cost-effective SIEM solution.”
