Emerson (News - Alert) Network Power, a provider of network infrastructure management solutions, has enhanced its Trellis Platform with two new capabilities - Trellis Power System Manager and Trellis Mobile Suite.
Trellis Power System Manager is a significant milestone for the industry as it intros the ability to view the complete power chain from the grid to the rack via a one-line diagram. With this, data center managers can easily document the complete power system and view capacity utilization in real-time. It also gives them the ability to forecast energy consumption.
The Trellis Mobile Suite is designed to help data center managers manage assets in real time from anywhere, so they can reduce risks and ensure business continuity. The solution features innovative image-recognition technology and bar-code scanning capabilities.
Data center managers can also use the Trellis Mobile Suite to find, add, move and remove racks and devices faster; carry out audits easily; and configure the database without returning to a computer. This will help data center managers save a lot of time and give them the ability to track assets and perform system updates on the go.
"These new modules take the most comprehensive DCIM solution to the next level by giving the user greater insight for managing their assets on-the-go or on the data center floor, allowing them to reduce downtime risks, improve operational efficiency and cut costs," said Steve Hassell, president of Emerson Network Power's (News - Alert) Data Center Solutions business, in a statement.
In another recent announcement, Emerson Network Power released a new 300 Watt AC-DC power supply that will provide industrial and medical equipment manufacturers with a highly reliable single output power solution at a competitive cost.
The LCM300Q-T-4 features digital control, enabling Emerson to use simple firmware updates to modify parameters such as peak load handling, special voltage control, and to create unique fan speed profiles, the company said.
