Optelian (News - Alert), a company that provides Intuitive Packet Optical Networking solutions, recently launched FLEXManager, a solution that leverages Service-Driven Networking to reduce the time to create and deploy packet optical services and accelerates time-to-revenue.
FLEXManager provides a view of the network through a graphical management interface that intuitively presents details on services, inventory, software upgrades and equipment configuration, all stored in a centralized management system. Node locations, topology awareness, port availability, connectivity status and shelf-level configuration details paint a complete picture of network operations and service connectivity.
The solution also unlocks the capabilities of Optelian networks, simplifying provisioning and ongoing management of the network and services. The ability to manage all aspects of the network, from quality of service attributes to OTN encapsulation, makes it easier to use the full set of their network’s functional capabilities and provision services for optimum performance.
"FLEXManager provides operators with simpler management of their packet optical service delivery network. Our Service-Driven Networking approach puts services first as opposed to the technology that enables them," said David Weymouth, Optelian's CEO. "It is very different from what other players are doing. Service providers really like the way our solution ties service creation directly to the service sold to a customer. The benefits of this simplicity are the ease and speed at which services are created without requiring extensive technology and product knowledge."
Optelian was recently named one of Canada's Fastest-Growing Companies on the annual PROFIT 500 list, recently released by PROFIT Magazine. The PROFIT 500 ranking recognizes entrepreneurs and their businesses for their achievements and contributions to Canada. Optelian ranks number 274 on PROFIT's list and is recognized for its 211% revenue growth over a five-year period. In the "by region" category, Optelian ranks 13 on PROFIT's list for Ottawa. All candidates were ranked by five-year percentage revenue growth, generally from 2007 through 2012.
