Recently, Mobility Tech Zone, a website that is notorious for gathering all of the latest and greatest news currently taking place in the mobile broadband industry, has recently selected network packet broker provider VSS Monitoring (News - Alert) as a winner of its 2011 Product of the Year Award for its Distributed Series.

According to the company’s site, “The Distributed Series accesses and delivers traffic from one or more full-duplex networks to multiple network intelligence tools. Policy-based triggers, filtering, and load balancing combine with packet optimization and specific application features to provide redundant network intelligence system building for full LAN, WAN, or cloud-based network visibility.”

Network packet brokers enables businesses to significantly reduce the amount of tools they must both manage and maintain, while simultaneously cutting down the time it takes to respond to any type of malfunction-related issues. This solution is ideal in being able to quickly gain insight into exactly what traffic is passing through the network at exactly the right points, enabling companies to seamlessly integrate a network intelligence optimization layer into their infrastructure to manage the connection between the tools and network with ease.

“Product of the Year Awards have been granted to companies who have proven their commitment to quality and excellence while addressing real needs in the marketplace,” said Rich Tehrani, CEO, TMC (News - Alert), in a statement. “We’re proud to honor these companies for their accomplishments in the advancement of the mobile technology industry.”

In July, VSS Monitoring unveiled its new portfolio of NPB appliances and software capabilities coined vBroker, giving customers access to next-generation network monitoring and security system that will up the ante on efficiency.

“The market need for application-aware network packet broker solutions continues to expand due to ever-increasing network complexity and upgrade cycles of network capacity due to the pressure public and private cloud infrastructures place on the network,” said Jonah Kowall, Gartner (News - Alert) research director. “Network packet brokers make today’s increasing data stream manageable. The placement of monitoring tools must be accomplished and tested easily in centralized locations, and NPBs enable better visibility and longevity of tool investments.”
