Forecast Presents CounterACT 7 to Deliver Hybrid 802.1x and Unmanned NAC Functionalities
October 22, 2012
ForeScout Technologies has recast the network access control (NAC) landscape with the release of ForeScout CounterACt 7 that delivers hybrid 802.1x and unmanned NAC functionalities. The reputable provider of automated security control solutions for Global 1000 enterprises and government organizations has made it easier to deploy, manage and scale network access control especially for enterprises interested in bring your own device (BYOD) strategies.
ForeScout CounterACT allows government agencies and commercial enterprises to achieve uninterrupted network access with endpoint compliance while maintaining end user experience and critical operations. For the case of heavily implemented BYOD settings, many mobile devices connecting to the corporate network start unmanaged. To help keep the network up and moving, NAC platforms must have several capabilities to handle BYOD needs like network visibility and endpoint compliance.
Commenting on the versatility of the CounterACT, Barak Shrefler, chief information security officer, Hadassah University Hospital, admits that the network in the healthcare provider setting must be up to standard and be accessible by many. He, however, believes that it is still crucial that it has the right protection to ensure that only the right people access it and do so fast.
The NAC Hybrid Mode-802.1X, in addition to other certifications, make it easy to implement and improve user experiences. The suite bonds seamlessly with ForeScout CounterACT, allowing for managed and personal mobile devices to connect more easily, an integrated RADIUS service to improve on NAC deployment and error rollback mechanism to ensure policy enforcement through employee credentialed or guest-enrolled access.
Other scoring points for this new BYOD enhancing solution include continuous monitoring and remediation that stretch the power of CounterACT as an automated security platform, a plug and play interoperability that sees to it that CounterACT works with on location hardware and software.
The final and strongest winning factor is that ForeScout CounterACT 7 is available. The automated security control platform, delivered as an amalgamated out-of-band physical or virtual appliance, will sell at $13,995 for up to 500 units and $142,000 for 10,000 pieces of CounterACT appliances.
