Internap Opens New High-Performance Facility in New York Metro Area

These days, it’s a common problem for IT companies to outgrow their IT Infrastructure, and not having the space, capital or staff to efficiently expand. The companies are usually faced with large amounts of data growth, unstable application performance and an infrastructure that poses more questions than the administrators can handle.

Helping companies with this problem, Internap (News - Alert) Network Services Corporation, a provider of intelligent IT Infrastructure services, has opened a new data center in the New York metro area. With this, the company is looking to explore market demand for more premium data center capacity.

The company considers this new facility to be an evidence of its successful strategy to create a geographically-diversified platform of premium data centers. In eight North American markets, this new data center will be Internap’s twelfth company-controlled facility.

The new data center will be equipped with company’s flexible portfolio of colocation and managed, dedicated and cloud hosting services. It will also provide content delivery network services along with route-optimized Performance IP.

“We did extensive due diligence when researching the site of our new data center and believe the Secaucus location provides an ideal mix of space, power, connectivity options and access to a range of customers and industries," said Mike Higgins, senior vice president of data center services at Internap. "With our two existing New York metro area data centers nearing capacity in the second half of 2013, the new Secaucus facility underscores our commitment to the New York market.”

Recently, OwnerIQ, a provider of targeted digital advertising solutions, selected Internap's scalable Managed Hosting services. The company was looking to power its real-time ad targeting and media buying platform and it also selected Internap's route-optimized Performance IP and Content Delivery Network. With this, OwnerIQ will now become one of the fastest digital ad buyers as the company will have the lowest error rate on various ad exchanges.
