Redline Trading Solutions recently announced that its InRush 3 Accelerated Ticker Plant and Execution Gateway (News - Alert) has cleared a STAC tick-to-trade performance assessment, thereby establishing its capability in substantially reducing latency. Redline Trading Solutions is a specialist provider of ultra-low latency, smart order routing and automated trading solutions.

During the tests, which were based on a futures trading use case, latency beginning from the arrival of market data to transmission of orders, wire to wire, were measured. The results recorded at market rate (1x) were a mean latency of 6.1 microseconds with a maximum latency of 18.2 microseconds, and a standard deviation (jitter) of 1.4 microseconds. However, results at 8x market data rates also resulted in identical mean and jitter, thereby establishing impressive determinism.

In a statement, Peter Lankford, director, Securities Technology Analysis Center, said, “This is the industry’s first independent and rigorous tick-to-trade benchmark. The test methodology, called STAC-T1.EMINI, is available to trading firms and vendors on the STAC Benchmark Council, while this public STAC Report contains detailed descriptions of the methodology, test results, and system configuration. We are pleased that Redline has taken the leadership step of disclosing end-to-end STAC Benchmark results for its ticker plant and execution gateway.”

InRush 3 essentially connects and manages a wide range of exchange feeds to high-performance client trading applications. The Execution Gateway first interfaces and then keeps a track of the order flow to various execution venues all at the same time. Each of these applications are capable of supporting platforms featuring Intel (News - Alert) Xeon processor E5 family and advanced network adapter technologies with a single-server solution with the aim of speeding the tick-to-trade path.

The tests were carried out on HP DL380p Gen8 servers, Mellanox (News - Alert) ConnectX-3 EN 10 Gigabit Ethernet Adapters and RHEL 6.1, and involved the use of Corvil latency monitor and Datacom Systems optical tap to ensure accurate measurement of latencies.
