Interface Masters Technologies Unveils Niagara TAP Solution

Interface Masters, a vendor in the Bypass and TAP networking market and based in the heart of Silicon Valley, CA (News - Alert), announced the availability of Niagara 3231, a 40G Link Aggregation TAP System.


The full TAP family headlined by Niagara 3231 is designed to integrate with IDS, sniffers, analyzers, probes, and traffic management appliances.

"Interface Masters (News - Alert) is pleased to lead the TAP market into next generation monitoring with its new 40G Link Aggregation TAP System to ensure maximized visibility into high speed networks," Ben Askarinam, founder and chief executive officer at Interface Masters Technologies, said in a statement.

Niagara 3231 consists of a TAP segment which possesses full 40 Gigabit monitoring capabilities. The TAP system supports multiple TAP methodologies as well as Multi-Mode and Single-Mode fiber media configuration for 40Gbps. The system architecture is designed for flexibility, enabling it to operate in various modes including split, aggregation and packet injection TAP.

The system supports a full suite of secure management, including industry-standard management and logging tools.

Key features offered by Niagara 3231 include Split and Link aggregation TAP, packet injection, passive bypass, gigabit copper and fiber (SX/LX), 10 Gigabit Fiber (SR/LR) and 40Gb QSFP+ options, up to four segments, hot-swappable redundant power supplies for maximum reliability, management and console ports, CLI and WEB management, SSH and HTTPS for secure management, TACACS+, and Syslog, NTP, EMC (News - Alert), FCC Class A, UL.

Some of the noted advantages of Niagara Passive TAP Series include passive monitoring support, support for 1 and 10 gigabit Fiber, up to 10 segments per system, 1U Rack-mountable chassis, and a factory configurable Optical split ratio.

"With a versatile TAP family available with passive, active, multi-speed and multi-segment options, combined with our PacketMaster technology, we are positioned to provide complete, one-stop solutions at an industry-best price performance point," Askarinam added.

As indicated, the Niagara Aggregation TAP and Niagara Passive TAP families are in production. The company plans to start the production of the new Niagara 3231 in December this year.

Earlier in August, Interface Masters announced the first member of its virtual machine-aware Bypass Server adapter family, which supports dual ports 1 Gigabit Copper Bypass.
