Infinera (News - Alert) has entered into a strategic collaboration with Dacom Crossing. Dacom Crossing has been able to provide a completely incorporated network, which has linked Seoul, the terrestrial backhaul network and the EAC Korea landing station, by implementing the Infinera DTN-X packet optical networking platform.

Dacom Crossing’s International Private Lease Circuit services can offer a maximum of 10 Gigabit per second or Gb/s. Dacom Crossing can now deliver 10, 40 and 100 Gigabit Ethernet or GbE services by leveraging the Infinera Intelligent Transport Network, which comprises of the DTN-X.  Dacom Crossing can advantageously utilize the Infinera Intelligent Transport Network for augmenting profits. The Infinera network not only offers extremely dependable differentiated services but also decreases operating expenses via scaling, multi-layer convergence and computerization. Dacom Crossing can use Infinera Instant Bandwidth to ensure quick implementation of bandwidth in 100 Gb/s increments as required.

In a statement, JH Kim, CEO, Dacom Crossing, said, "The DTN-X allows us to scale our network as needed based on customer demand, while providing unprecedented speed and reliability. Coupled with the Instant Bandwidth feature, which allows us to deploy increments of 100G services, Infinera's solutions enable differentiation by shortening provisioning times, accelerating service delivery, and reducing time to revenue."

Dacom Crossing is a provider of wholesale services to Tier One carriers, ISP's and content providers. For the first time, a Korean network operator has implemented an Intelligent Transport Network, facilitated by the industry's unique 500 Gb/s coherent super-channel transmission.

Andrew Bond-Webster, vice president, APAC Sales, Infinera, said, "Dacom Crossing is now providing South Korea with its first Intelligent Transport Network, featuring the industry's only solution designed with photonic integrated circuits. Our solution's ability to quickly and reliably provide network services on demand, with the ability to scale in the most efficient manner, really stood out against our competitors."

The future modifications to terabit super-channels and Terabit Ethernet will be compatible with the scalable Infinera DTN-X. Five Terabits of non-blocking OTN switching are united into one platform by Infinera DTN-X, guaranteeing competent network usage in comparison to traditional WDM architectures. Manual functions are computerized by the intelligent software, merged with this converged platform, resulting in decreased operational expenses and rapid service delivery.
