BlueCat's IPAM Solutions Receive Common Criteria EAL 2+ Certification

BlueCat announced that the company’s Adonis DNS/DHCP Server 6.7.1-P3 (BlueCat DNS/DHCP Server) and Proteus (News - Alert) IP Address Manager 3.7.2-P2 (BlueCat Address Manager) have received Common Criteria EAL 2+ Certification. The certification is a globally recognized standard for benchmarking the security capabilities of hardware and software in the information technology industry. The IPAM, DNS and DHCP solutions from BlueCat were assessed by leveraging the Security Evaluation Laboratory of CygnaCom.

In a release, Brad Micklea, Vice President of Product Management at BlueCat, said “IP Address Management, DNS and DHCP solutions are critical to ensuring secure, always-on business connectivity. In an industry where security threats to data is a critical concern, most organizations across the world seek an independent evaluator for assessing the capabilities of IT products in line with the industry accepted standards. Common Criteria is a global standard recognized for providing rigorous, clear and recurring evaluation of IT products. The standard was developed with consultations and inputs from six countries including compliance with federal regulations in the US and Canada.

Nithya Rachamadugu, Director, Security Evaluation Laboratory at CygnaCom Solutions, confirmed “We are happy to confirm that the BlueCat Adonis 6.7.1-P3 and Proteus 3.7.2-P2 products were tested and the results were found to be in conformance with the Common Criteria requirements.”

The Security Evaluation Laboratory is the authorized to undertake product assessments in compliance with the Common Criteria (CC) (ISO/IEC (News - Alert) 15408) and the Common Evaluation Methodology (CEM).
