Network performance solutions provider Extreme Networks (News - Alert) announced its latest Purview, which is designed to provide visibility into application use across the network.

According to the report, the new solution helps organizations improve application use across the network by improving the experience of connected users and protecting them against malicious or unauthentic system use.

“With Purview, we have introduced a groundbreaking offering that leverages the network to empower customers and partners to improve interactions with end users, enhance engagement and optimize system efficiencies,” Chuck Berger, president and CEO, Extreme Networks. “This deeper level of insight allows organizations to rapidly make well-informed decisions aimed at improving the user experience."

In other news, Fox Networks deployed an RTM 3G real-time audio and video monitoring solution in its Network Engineering and Operations lab, which is helping them test process equipment and sample network paths systematically for quality of adaptive bit rate audio and video streams.

"IP delivery is challenging, and it's hard to replicate that environment, but that's exactly what we have to do in order to create viable testing solutions. The Fox lab has the insight, equipment, and expertise to do it, so it has been a longstanding test bed for our products," said Blake Homan, president of Video Clarity (News - Alert).
