Napatech, ntop Collaborate to Provide High-performance Network Management, Security Appliances

Napatech (News - Alert), a supplier of network analysis adapters, and ntop, a traffic monitoring software expert, have joined hands to deliver high-performance network management and security appliances.

The companies have collaborated to reduce time to market for the appliances. They will be offering a 10 Gbps capture-to-disk solution at first which is expected to be demonstrated at the  Mobile World Congress and RSA (News - Alert) from February 24th to 28th, 2014.

In appliances used in network management, network security and in real-time big data analytics, capture-to-disk technology is in great demand but technical expertise becomes imperative with regards to implementation of high-speed applications. Napatech adapters ensure high-performance appliance development in addition to providing data for analysis.

ntop accelerates traffic monitoring applications with ntop PF_RING an interface that enables network analysis application development. Useful for both commercial and open-source communities, the PF_RING offers on-the-fly packet indexing to hasten packet display and filtering.

Napatech analysis adapters and ntop software will together provide appliance vendors a platform that helps in the implementation of appliances designed for optimal monitoring, testing, securing and optimizing networks. The combined capture-to-disk solution can now enable any appliance vendor to implement key capabilities in their appliances with the best performance features.
