ManageEngine (News - Alert), a real-time IT management company, stated that its Password Manager Pro, an enterprise privileged password management solution, is now available with SAML 2.0 support. The company has also enabled users to auto login into the Password Manager Pro through Okta GUI without having to enter credentials.
Rajesh Ganesan, director of product management at ManageEngine commented, “Password Manager Pro protects passwords of shared accounts and ties them to individual user accounts for accountability. So it’s critical that we integrate with the enterprise’s primary identity store. With SAML support and out-of-the-box Okta integration, Password Manager Pro now gives enterprises a standards-based, secure and convenient solution for providing user access and tracking accountability. We will soon offer integration with other SAML identity providers, too.”
According to ManageEngine, its Password Manager Pro can be used to remove password fatigue and security lapses by deploying a secure, centralized vault for password storage and access and enhance IT productivity significantly via automated frequent password changes required in critical systems.
Now users also have to option to utilize federated single sign-on solutions like Okta and enjoy benefits like automated provisioning and de-provisioning of accounts and enter the same credentials to login to both on-premise and cloud applications. In order to facilitate these benefits, ManageEngine purportedly integrated the latest version of Password Manager Pro with SAML, an XML-based open standard data format for exchanging authentication and authorization data between parties, in particular, between an identity provider and a service provider.
Other improvements built into the Password Manager Pro include secure, SSH/Telnet access to remote devices in data centers and the managed service provider (MSP) edition designed to counter MSPs’ exclusive privileged identity management problems.
ManageEngine added that the latest version of the Password Manager Pro with SAML support is available to users immediately in free, standard, and premium editions. The standard edition is priced at $495 per year for two administrators, while the premium edition is available for $1,195 per year for five administrators.
