Optimal network and application performance is critical for businesses to sustain and flourish. Infiltration of diverse technologies, such as cloud computing, mobility, Bring-Your-Own-Device (BYOD) and more, have added to the complexity in network architecture, thereby bringing in more challenges.

Network and application-layer monitoring plays a key role in quick detection, identification, and solving of complex network and application performance issues.

One Source (News - Alert) Networks (OSN), a provider of voice and managed network services, recently joined hands with AppNeta, a provider of full-stack Application Performance Management (APM (News - Alert)) solutions, to deliver comprehensive application-layer monitoring to its global enterprise customer base.

Under the terms of this partnership, the combined capabilities of both the companies will facilitate customers of OSN to get end-to-end visibility of enterprise network, and clear analysis capability for Web, mobile and cloud-delivered application environments.

Precisely, AppNeta's full-stack APM solution would be added to OSN's network-monitoring capabilities, in order to facilitate OSN’s customers to easily identify and fix performance bottlenecks. This in turn ensures seamless delivery of business-critical applications and an optimal end-user experience, cited Jim Melvin, CEO, AppNeta, in a statement.

According to sources, the new capability is provided as a value-added service within OSN’s Managed Network Services offering that features 24x7x365 support and management of circuits and CPE, real-time and historical reporting, security services and backup as a Service.

This service includes four distinct modules, which can be mixed and matched depending on the unique reporting requirements. It will primarily facilitate customers to generate, analyze and measure live VoIP and video-conferencing traffic, as well as detect and troubleshoot network latency, packet loss, jitter and QoS errors.

A passive device, which will be completely managed by OSN, would be installed on the customer's premises. The device will provide the customer with expansive visibility without the cost and hassle of managing infrastructure.

Ernest Cunningham, CEO, One Source Networks (News - Alert), said in a statement, "Being able to deliver a unified view of the health of an enterprise's critical applications with network insight further builds on OSN's commitment of delivering enterprises with the advanced, high-performance solutions they require, via a single source."
