TMCnet Network TAP Week in Review

For organizations looking to significantly increase visibility into everything that is going on within corporate networks, a network TAP is key. With the intelligence functionality provided via a network tap, ROI can be dramatically elevated and due to the fact that the network can be closely analyzed with only one solution, costs are cut which leads to a much lower cost of ownership.

This week in the rapidly growing industry, it was revealed that employees around the world expect rapid Web access at all times. When an end-user thinks about visiting any website, they typically conjure up images of how reliable, secure, and stable it is. In fact, website performance measurement firm Gomez has recently revealed findings that the average online visitor expects pages to load in two seconds or less, and after this time frame, about 40 percent of visitors will no longer be interested in the site at all.

To ensure these sites are working successfully a network TAP can be leveraged, as it is an invaluable toolset that is made up of both appliances and probes that work together to passively and actively optimize the performance and security of a network’s core infrastructure, services and applications in any environment, whether it’s a large corporation, a government agency or a service provider.

In other news, the SolarWinds (News - Alert) Network Performance Monitor (NPM) has just made its debut. This robust solution removes the complexity present in solutions from traditional enterprise software vendors and provides comprehensive monitoring for multivendor networks.

According to Doug Hibberd, executive vice president of technology and general manager of APAC operations at SolarWinds, the Japanese version of the NPM is “easy to buy, easy to install and easy to use.”

Further, SolarWinds NPM enables networks to stay healthy, powering a fully automated intelligent networking alert that can pinpoint a problem before it becomes serious.

Closing out the week, Piriform, Inc. unveiled the latest generation of its CCleaner Network software. The CCleaner Network Version 2.0 will help to dramatically improve the overall performance of a computer, in addition to getting rid all the unnecessary files that could negatively affect the performance of a particular machine.

“We're very excited about the CCleaner Network Version 2.0 products and the opportunities they present for enterprises, resellers and managed service providers," said Piriform CEO Guy Saner in a statement. "Millions of individuals have become devoted users of the original CCleaner, and it's exciting to see that same loyalty translate to the next generation of CCleaner products in the corporate market."
