BRIEF: Cal State Student Killed in Fontana Police ShootingFONTANA, Jun 18, 2011 (KTLA-TV - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- A man has been killed in an officer-involved shooting in Fontana this morning. According to Fontana Police, officers tried to stop Jonathan Ordonez, 27, for a vehicle code violation around 2:25 a.m. when he threatened officers with a knife. Reports then claim that Ordonez jumped back inside his vehicle and led police on a short pursuit at speeds up to 90 miles per hour. He then came to a stop on the 8100 block of Catawba Avenue and allegedly tried to use his vehicle as a weapon against officers. Police opened fire and struck Ordonez, killing him instantly. Witnesses said as many as 30 shots were fired. Family members said he has a history with depression.
