Allied Telesis Introduces New High-Value Professional Services at ASIS 2011 Seminar and Exhibition in Orlando

ORLANDO, Fla. --(Business Wire)--

In response to strong customer demand, Allied Telesis (News - Alert), global provider of IP/Ethernet access solutions for network service provider, enterprise, and government networks, is launching two new services at ASIS 2011 in Orlando: Net.Monitor, a comprehensive suite of network and server monitoring and reporting services; and a hands-on training course in IP video surveillance networking. Net.Monitor will be demonstrated on a live network in the Allied Telesis booth at the show, and excerpts of the IP video surveillance networking course will be offered in 1-hour, invitation-only segments in nearby meeting room, MR-2.

Net.Monitor was created in response to growing demands from customers across a range of industries that operate with limited IT resources and need support for monitoring and diagnostics of their networks. Allied Telesis currently provides monitoring services for several large video-intensive networks, including San Jose State University and Yokota U.S. Air Force Base in Japan.

As customers move from analog CCTV video cameras to IP video security and surveillance, one of the key issues is the lack of expertise in or manpower required for IP and Ethernet networking. The Net.Monitor service helps customers optimize their internal resources and reduce operational expenses.

To perform monitoring, Allied Telesis installs software that runs unobtrusively on the network and enables its service teams to remotely monitor the network in real ime. Monitoring functions include network and server monitoring, alarm reporting and trouble reporting. Customer information and data remains secure at all times. Allied Telesis identifies problems and provides clients with detailed reports on network performance and issues and can support Service Level Agreements (SLAs) through its performance monitoring capabilities. Customers can view monitoring status through a web portal.

Allied Telesis is also previewing its recently launched IP video surveillance training program, "Fundamental Solution Training: Video Surveillance," during ASIS. The Company is offering booth visitors the chance to participate in 1-hour excerpts from the program, which will be held in a conference room adjacent to the show floor. This will give interested parties a chance to complete an actual module of the course while assessing the value of the full training course offered.

The training program includes the basics of IP video security, the use of Power over Ethernet (PoE), managing IP cameras, and the configuration and management of switches. Course schedules and location are available on the Allied Telesis website (http://alliedtelesis.com/training) and also at the show.

The IP video surveillance networking course provides basic-level training for installers, integrators and facility/IT staff whose responsibility it is to implement IP video surveillance systems. Those completing the course will have the requisite knowledge and skills to effectively install, support and manage IP-based networks for video security and surveillance.

"Our network monitoring and IP video surveillance training services bridge the gap between the benefits of new technologies and the challenges of efficiently implementing and managing them," said Keith Southard, president and CEO of Allied Telesis Capital Corporation. "The professional services Allied Telesis offers bring measurable value by lowering operating costs and improving network ROI."
