(Jordan Times, The Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Dec. 20--Landmark Amman Hotel sponsors NOS Little League football team Landmark Amman Hotel sponsored recently the Little League football team of the National Orthodox School (NOS) at a series of matches held on the school premises in Shmeisani. A friendly football match was also organised between the hotel's staff team and parents of the participating schoolchildren to celebrate their partnership. Ibrahim Karajeh, assistant general manager at Landmark Amman Hotel, said: "At Landmark Amman we are very keen to promote sports as a means of self-development. We wanted to sponsor the NOS Little League football team to help the young players develop vital teamwork skills, as well as encourage them to exercise regularly and improve their sporting ability." Christmas celebrations begin at InterContinental Hotels Group The InterContinental Hotels Group Jordan & Palestine celebrated the spirit of the holiday season with several of its hotels lighting Christmas trees at 17:00 hrs on the evening of December 13, 2011. The celebrations at InterContinental Jordan, InterContinental Aqaba Resort, InterContinental Bethlehem, InterContinental Jericho, Crowne Plaza Amman, Crowne Plaza Petra, Holiday Inn Amman and Holiday Inn Resort Dead Sea, were accompanied by the joyful sounds of Christmas carols and a festive cocktail reception for guests. The hotels' public areas were adorned with Christmas decorations, filling the public areas with the beautiful colours.



Zain Jordan, ASREN sign accord; EUROMED selects Zain for London link Under a memorandum of understanding signed with the Arab States Research and Education Network (ASREN), Zain Jordan, the mobile operator in the Middle East, will utilise ASREN potential in the fiber-optic networks and cloud computing systems to serve the objectives of the organisation in making Jordan a major hub. Signed by ASREN Chairman Talal Abu Ghazaleh and Zain Jordan chief Executive Officer Ahmad Hanandeh, the agreement states that both parties are committed to improve the potential cooperation for developing joint interc-onnectivity operations and services, and to encourage joint cooperation in connectivity to ASREN e-infrastructure with the objective of enhancing collaboration in research and education in the Arab regional and global context. Also, the accord calls for directing efforts towards establishing other forms of collaboration such as digital content, software applications and services. Separately, EUROMED selected Zain to establish the optical-fiber cables link between the Jordanian Universities Network and EUROMED in London as a first phase. Later on ??Zain Jordan will become the main hub for scientific research by linking networks of universities in the Arab countries together, as well as connecting them with the scientific research networks around the world.

Amman Marriott Hotel celebrates Christmas with YWCA Around 120 kids with their parents spent an afternoon at Amman Marriott Hotel, which along with Jordan Ahli Bank, Jelly-Belly and Radio HD FM sponsored the event for the YWCA. The children enjoyed building gingerbread houses and decorating them with frosting and Jelly Belly Beans with the help of the chefs and other Amman Marriott Hotel associates. The gingerbread house event was followed by a special children's Christmas lunch buffet along with entertainment and a visit from Santa Claus, who was there to deliver gifts for the children.


DAMAMAX's chief participates in INJAZ's Business Leaders Campaign 2011 Eyad Abu Khorma, chief executive officer of DAMAMAX, a subsidiary of DAMA Ventures and a backbone operator in the Kingdom providing broadband solutions through optical fiber, participated this week in the Business Leaders Campaign 2011 which is organised by INJAZ. Abu Khorma conducted an interactive session with a group of 9th to 11th grade students from Al Emam Malek Secondary School for Boys in Jabal Al Kusoor who are interested in technology, IT and telecommunications. He spoke about his own experience indicating how he did not allow his standard educational background and the challenges he faced to deter him from pursuing and achieving his dream. He also discussed his past careers at Zain (formerly Fastlink), Orange (formerly Mobilecom), AT&T, Tmobile and Umniah, as well as his current position. "This interactive participation is one of many for DAMAMAX, which emphasises innovation and education, particularly when it pertains to Jordan's youth," Abu Khorma said. The Business Leaders Campaign is a programme launched by INJAZ in 2008 and sponsored by USAID and Credit Suisse Bank.

Bank al Etihad signs auto financing agreement with Mahmoudia Motors Bank al Etihad signed this week a partnership agreement with Mahmoudia Motors, the exclusive and official dealer of Volvo cars in Jordan. According to this agreement, Bank Al Etihad will provide flexible financing solutions with competitive terms including interest rate for customers who are looking to buy a Volvo car. This partnership enables the bank's clients to utilise Volvo's benefits such as a warranty and a 3-year maintenance contract.

Arab Bank graduates employees under 'Talent Management Certification' scheme Arab Bank recently celebrated the second batch of graduates under its pioneer training programme "Talent Management Certification". Currently in its second year, the training programme was launched in 2010 by the bank in Jordan and was expanded this year to cover Arab Bank's branches in Palestine and Lebanon. In addition, the programme was further developed to include six certifications in the different fields. Arab Bank Chairman Abdel Hamid Shoman opened the ceremony by saying: "Since the establishment of Arab Bank the human asset has played a major part of our journey of success, which was made possible by all the generations of employees who boasted the highest degree of professionalism under all circumstances." He added: "Continually investing in the development of the skill, talent and experience of our employees on a number of levels and in different areas reflects the values of Arab Bank. The Talent Management Certification programme will be launched in the future in the countries where Arab Bank operates.

Bustami & Saheb Trading Co.launches INFINITI in Jordan Bustami & Saheb Trading Company (BSTC), the sole distributor of Nissan and Infiniti in Jordan, celebrated this week the launch of the first official Infiniti Exclusive Centre in Jordan. Ghassan Bustami, chief executive officer of BSTC, greeted all attendees and expressed pride of being the sole distributor of INFINITI in Jordan. "Our challenge is to introduce a new idea that combines art, vibrant sensuality with innovative and intuitive technology," he said. The ceremony culminated with unveiling the FX35, QX56, G25 and M37.
