BRIEF: Novato police seek bank robber with Nevada license plate


Jun 01, 2012 (The Marin Independent Journal - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- By Gary Klien Marin Independent Journal Novato police are trying to identify a man who robbed a bank Friday before escaping in a car with a Nevada license plate.



The robbery occurred shortly before 11:30 a.m. at the Wells Fargo branch at 5820 Nave Drive in the Hamilton area. The robber left with an undisclosed amount of cash after handing a bank teller a demand note, said Novato police Lt. Keith Heiden.

The robber did not display a weapon. He was seen driving away in a white mid-sized sedan with a Nevada license plate number of 287---.


The robber was described as white, 35 to 40 years old and about 5 feet, 6 inches tall. He was wearing a gray, long-sleeved, button-up shirt and a dark baseball cap with a red and white capital A, like an Atlanta Braves logo, Heiden said.
