Lincoln Financial Group Names Ellen Cooper Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer


PHILADELPHIA, July 2, 2012 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Lincoln Financial Group (NYSE:LNC) announced today that Ellen Cooper will join the company as executive vice president and chief investment officer, effective August 6, 2012. In her role, Cooper, 47, will be responsible for setting, implementing and providing strategic oversight and management of Lincoln Financial's investment strategy.



Cooper will serve as the primary investment officer on all investment related matters to the Board of Directors and senior management team. She will report directly to Dennis R. Glass, president and chief executive officer of Lincoln Financial Group, as well as serve as a member of the company's Senior Management Committee.

Prior to Goldman Sachs, Cooper was the chief risk officer for AEGON Americas. She has also served in insurance consulting roles at Ernst & Young, LLP and Towers Perrin.


Cooper holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Actuarial Science from Temple University, as well as CERA, CFA and FSA designations.
