Four sought for 15 burglaries in Dania Beach

Sep 08, 2012 (Sun Sentinel - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- The search is on for four men suspected of committing 15 burglaries within four days in Dania Beach, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.

They were spotted in a surveillance video buying food with a stolen credit card at a McDonald's restaurant. That was about 30 minutes after breaking into a nearby home on the 300 block of Southwest 15th Street, detectives said.

From Aug. 20 to 23, detectives listed 15 burglaries to vehicles and houses along Federal Highway from Stirling Road to Sheridan Street. All the break-ins occurred between 7 a.m. and noon. The suspects took electronics, a shotgun, cash, other valuables and whatever they could get their hands on, investigators said.

Detectives are hoping someone will recognize and report those seen in the surveillance video.

The suspects all appear to be in their late teens to early 20s. They all wore shorts and dark-color shirts or tank tops. Two of the suspects have dreadlocks and a third appeared to be hiding his dreadlocks under a cloth cap. The fourth suspect has on a skull cap, the video showed.

Investigators are urging anyone with information about the suspects' identities or with information about the crime spree to contact Detective Christopher DeGiovanni at 954-518-0154 or Broward Crime Stoppers, anonymously, at 954-493-8477 or http://www.browardcrimestoppers.org.
