Taylor Morrison's Interactive Home™ Brings Connected Living Home to Consumers

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. --(Business Wire)--

The nation's largest private homebuilder, Taylor Morrison, is delivering the simplicity, safety and elegance of connected home automation to homebuyers and setting the standard for what homebuyers will demand from builders in the future.

The new Interactive Home™ system from Taylor Morrison is being introduced to homebuyers across the country, with the package currently offered as a standard feature in the Houston and Austin markets, as well as in north Florida markets. The company's remaining divisions are rolling out the system this year, with Arizona and northern California offering home buyers the option to experience the innovative package.

The Interactive Home™ system - which incorporates a variety of connected home solutions including innovative Legrand products - offers many options, including a front door video monitoring system, LCD command center, whole house audio system (with more than 70,000 internet stations and iTunes integration), Selective Call Intercom, camera monitoring and a completely programmable lighting control system that can control everything from lights to small appliances.

The available options and true customization of the system allow homebuyers to create connected living experiences that match and reflect their lifestyles.

The program launched to great fanfare in Houston earlier this year as part of Taylor Morrison's vision to usher in a new precedent for connected living. Amy Haywood-Rino, who serves as Houston's sales and marketing vice president, and oversaw the program from inception, said the Interactive Home™ system has resonated with homebuyers who value the safety, security and convenience that the system offers.

"We focused on providing solutions to the questions our homebuyers had been asking us for years about technology in the home," Haywood-Rino said. "We've been committed to staying ahead of the industry with our technology solutions, and the national rollout of the Interactive Home™ sytem proves that on a large scale."

Taylor Morrison CEO and President Sheryl Palmer said the company has been working to integrate home automation into its product lines for some time now, and pointed to how real world technology is now making the ideas Taylor Morrison helped introduce with the Innoventions Dream Home exhibit located in Disneyland® Park a reality for today's homebuyers.

"Smartphones, tablet PCs and the increased capabilities of the Internet started these conversations with our homebuyers, and we responded with the Interactive Home™ system," she said. "By working with partners like Legrand, we're making it possible to control your lighting or see who's at the front door from these devices. Taylor Morrison is proud to deliver these outstanding solutions to our buyers."

"Taylor Morrison's Interactive Home™ project is a perfect example of how we envision millions of homeowners living in the not too distant future, and we're thrilled to partner with such a forward-thinking builder," said Fritz Werder, Vice President and General Manager for Legrand's Home Systems Division. "Their integration of Legrand products and technologies exemplifies the benefits of a truly interactive home."

The flexibility of the Interactive Home™ means homeowners can monitor the front door of their Taylor Morrison home from a TV or from the included LCD Command Center. The home audio system draws from digitally stored music on a PC or from iTunes to fill the home with their favorite musical sounds.

The industry-leading Selective Call Intercom system provides a hands-free way to communicate between rooms, and even includes voice messaging, broadcasting capabilities and room monitoring. For added security, up to six cameras can be added to the Interactive Home™ system, ensuring peace of mind for every homebuyer.

"Homebuyers have been waiting for their devices and homes to merge and provide the level of connectivity that has been promised for so long," Palmer said. "With the Interactive Home™ system, that day has finally arrived."
