Web Design Jobs Program For Students Created By DjO Design Group

(PR Web Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Chicago, IL (PRWEB) October 25, 2012 DjO Design Group, a Chicago web design company, today announced a program that gives students the opportunity to learn web design in a real world scenario. The program focuses on primary website design skills including content writing, graphic design, HTML, CSS and JavaScript development. More advanced subject matter like project management, marketing, search engine optimization, and server administration are also available.

“Website design is constantly evolving and requires you to continuously educate yourself to compete in this industry”, says Alex Delhaven, a senior member of the group. He added, “What kids learn today is already mostly outdated by the time they enter the workforce. That’s why we’ve decided to help change that for a few lucky candidates.” The program will select a handful of students who are interested and team them up with members of DjO Design Group. Students will engage in activities that teach them the skills necessary to get a job after they graduate from school. An example of the activities include:    •      Using Photoshop to create web graphics    •     Using Dreamweaver to create HTML and CSS    •     Writing content for websites    •     Working with jQuery to enhance a website    •     Advanced CSS techniques    •     Creating and managing a WordPress site Candidates must be at least 18 years old and have their own software to participate. “Most students are already taking classes in the web design field and have the necessary software”, Alex said. He added: “Our team of skilled developers are very talented and will teach students what schools can’t. We’ll give them a different perspective and show them what they’re getting themselves in to.” The program is free but requires students to sign up and qualify. Candidates are chosen based on several factors such as the courses they are currently enrolled in, the focus of their education, and type of career they want to pursue. The chosen students will receive 30 minutes of training per day and training assignments to complete. As assignments are completed, they are graded and discussed with the student. Students can sign up by submitting their full name, email address, and phone number to [email protected].

One of the benefits of this program is that students get hands on training on real projects. If the student successfully completes an assignment, the customer may allow the work to be used on their website. This allows the student to build a web design portfolio for themselves to help them when they start looking for work. Alex Delhaven also mentioned, “Another reason why we’re doing this program is so we can hire the talented candidates before our competition does. Some of the students can start work right away for customers who support this program.” Some of those companies are:    •      Architectural Limestone, Inc., - a company that fabricates limestone building materials like limestone fireplaces, window surrounds and limestone address blocks.

   •     Flood Specialists, Inc. – a company that provides restoration services like flood mitigation and mold remediation.

   •     Insurance Restoration Services – a company that performs emergency restoration to property after disasters.
