Suspect sought in First Street forced entry caseCUMBERLAND, Nov 07, 2012 (Cumberland Times-News - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Forced entry into a West First Street residence Tuesday evening is not believed to be related to three home invasions that occurred 12 hours earlier in the Louisiana Avenue area, according to the C3I Unit. The 6:30 p.m. incident occurred when the occupant heard a loud noise at his front door, which was forced open. As he attempted to close the door, two suspects pushed it, knocking the victim to the floor. The victim was ordered to remain on the floor. After "a short duration," the suspects fled, Cumberland Police said. Police said the victim was not injured but he was unable to provide a description of the perpetrators. The crime scene was processed for evidence. It was not immediately known if any items were taken from the residence. At about 6:30 a.m., a knife-wielding suspect kicked open the rear door of a Louisiana Avenue residence, demanded money and then fled with prescription medications. The resident suffered a knife wound to the hand when she punched the suspect in the chest, police said. The suspect was described as a white man about 5 feet, 11 inches to 6 feet, 1 inch tall and of medium build. Two other residences in the area were entered. A resident in one incident yelled upon encountering the suspect, who then ran. No occupants were present when the third incident occurred, police said. Investigation into all of the incidents is continuing by C3I and Cumberland Police.
