BRIEF: Maryville police investigate Krystal robbery
KNOXVILLE, Jan 03, 2013 (The Knoxville News-Sentinel - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --
Maryville police are investigating a robbery that occurred late Wednesday afternoon at a fast-food restaurant.
An unidentified man walked into the Krystal restaurant on Whitecrest Drive at 5:10 p.m., , Maryville Police Chief Tony Crisp said.
The police chief said the man went into the rest room and waited until all the customers had left the dining room.
"Then, he came out and said, 'I have a gun, give me your money and nobody will get hurt,'" Crisp said.
The police chief said employees complied with the man's demands and he left with an undisclosed amount of cash in a white, mid-1990s model sedan. A female in her 40s drove the car. She went south on Whitecrest Drive, heading toward Home Depot, Crisp said.
Crisp said the man was described as being white, in his early to mid-20s, standing 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighing about 130 pounds. The man wore a black hoodie, sunglasses and a black bandana over his face, the chief said.
"He never showed a gun," Crisp said. "He said he had one but he never showed one."
