Armed robber strikes again and again
Jan 04, 2013 (The Pueblo Chieftain - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --
Robberies are off to a quick pace in 2013. An East Side sandwich shop Thursday night became the third business targeted this year by a masked and hooded suspect armed with a handgun.
And Pueblo police believe the suspect could be responsible for other robberies. About 8:15 p.m., the handgun-wielding suspect robbed Subway, 1506 Troy Ave.
According to police the man wore a ski mask, sunglasses and a Broncos jersey under a black sweatshirt. He's described as a white man in his mid-20s, about 5 feet 8 inches tall and 150 pounds.
The suspect fled before police could arrive.
A similar suspect also robbed a North Side restaurant earlier Thursday. It happened at 4:55 a.m. at Adolfo's, 4104 Outlook Blvd.
A gun-wielding suspect reportedly took a cash register from behind the counter, fired a shot inside the restaurant and then fled on foot, escaping before police could arrive, a press release said.
The suspect carried a small black handgun and wore a dark-colored hoodie under a blue-andwhite flannel jacket, the
release said. The same suspect may be responsible for earlier robberies at Smoker Friendly and Pueblo Records & Tapes, which are located near Pueblo Boulevard and Red Creek Springs Road.
The suspect also used a small handgun in Wednesday's robbery at Smoker Friendly, where he wore a white-hooded jacket with road map/ atlas designs all over it.
A man with a machete robbed the record store Sunday. In that case the suspect was concealed in a white-hooded jacket with a white trash bag pulled over his face.
Anyone with information about these cases is asked to call Crime Stoppers, 542-7867.
