BRIEF: Two teens charged in two Pompano Beach burglaries

Jan 05, 2013 (Sun Sentinel - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Two teenagers were arrested Thursday for a couple of burglaries recorded by surveillance cameras in Pompano Beach, the Broward Sheriff's Office said.

Christopher Skillas, 19, of Pompano Beach, was seen in the videos, while Jesse Payne, 18, of Deerfield Beach, was identified as the getaway driver at the wheel of a BMW, investigators said.

They were accused of selling stolen property and are facing charges of burglary and grand theft.

Broward Sheriff's detectives said the surveillance video lead them to the suspects who committed two daytime home burglaries in Pompano Beach.

The first burglary took place on Dec. 18 in the 1000 block of SW 22nd Avenue. The second happened on Dec. 20 in the 400 block of S. Riverside Dr. In both instances, the suspect walked around the homes searching for an open window or door to let himself in, the video showed.

Investigators are urging anyone with more information about these suspects or other burglaries to contact Detective John Brindle at 954-786-4201 or Broward Crime Stoppers, anonymously, at 954-493-8477.
