Entrepreneurship and small-business talks in Hudson [The Akron Beacon Journal]

(Akron Beacon Journal (OH) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Jan. 05--Cleveland author, speaker and marketing strategist Joe Pulizzi says content marketing is about communicating with your customers without overtly selling to them.

In a recent online article, Pulizzi gave props to the content marketing work of Procter & Gamble. He noted that the company developed a mobile app (called "Sit or Squat") that promotes Charmin toilet paper -- while providing useful information: locations of nearby clean restrooms.

Pulizzi, founder of the Content Marketing Institute, will speak on content marketing at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 23 in Hudson as the Entrepreneurship and Small Business Series returns to the Hudson Library and Historical Center.

The popular free series is organized by the library's Burton D. Morgan Center for Entrepreneurship Research and is underwritten by the Burton D. Morgan Foundation.

The library is at 96 Library St. in the First & Main shopping complex.

The workshops are free; registration is required. Register online at www.hudsonlibrary.org or call 330-653-6658.

Here is the schedule for the winter/spring series: Jan. 23 --6:30 p.m. -- Joe Pulizzi will talk about content marketing strategies.
