Pioneer Previews: Warm up with arts classes

BEMIDJI, Jan 06, 2013 (The Bemidji Pioneer - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- For those who would like an alternative to ice fishing this winter, check out the various arts classes that are being given in January and into February by Headwaters School of Music and the Arts and the Bemidji Community Arts Center.

Just to initiate the timid amateur to the "let's give it a go" person, BCAC is offering Canvas and Cocktails, a Paint Party for Beginners. For a fun and relaxing evening, BCAC's BYOB Paint Party from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Jan. 24 in the main gallery at 426 Bemidji Ave. N. is the place to be. An instructor will guide the fledgling artists in recreating the evening's featured painting.

The painting materials will be on hand, along with some nibbles; all you need to do is BYOB -- liquid courage of any genre. BCAC will even supply the bottle opener and cups.
