CEOs step up cyber offensive
Jan 06, 2013 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) --
Lindsay Maxted, chairman of Westpac and Transurban and director of BHP Billiton, says all three firms are vulnerable to cyber attacks. Maxted reveals that a large part of Westpac's IT budget is allocated to security. His comments follow claims by David Irvine, director-general of the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation, that companies are not doing enough to combat cyber attacks. Business heads including the Future Fund's Peter Costello admit that computer crimes are a risk.
