BRIEF: Samsung tops Israeli mobile phone sales [Globes, Tel Aviv, Israel]

(Globes (Tel Aviv) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Jan. 06--Hebrew daily "Yediot Ahronot" reports that Samsung had the most mobile phone sales in Israel in 2012. According to industry experts and analysis of financial reports, Samsung sold 760,000 devices last year through its authorized Israeli dealer, 650,000 of which were sold via the three large carriers.


Apple was in second place, selling 385,000 iPhones in Israel in 2012. Private individuals reportedly imported 20,000 iPhones on their own.

Nokia was in third place, selling 194,000 mobile phones last year.
