BRIEF: Man dies after fall from MV cell tower
MOUNT VERNON, Jan 05, 2013 (Skagit Valley Herald - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --
A technician died Friday after falling from a cellular tower he was working on at a Mount Vernon fire station.
According to Mount Vernon police, the 32-year-old man, who was working for a consulting and construction company from Sammamish, fell from the tower at Mount Vernon Fire Station No. 2 on LaVenture Road about 11:55 a.m. Firefighters and medics on duty at the fire station gave the man immediate medical treatment. He was transported to Skagit Valley Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police say.
The Skagit County coroner, Mount Vernon Police Department and the state Department of Labor and Industries are investigating. No one else was injured at the site.
The cellular tower is located on city property that is leased to commercial cell providers.
No other information was available late Friday.
