Telstra, Optus coy as Conroy waits for one to bite on spectrum sale

Telstra and Singtel Optus are yet to confirm plans to bid for the wireless spectrum the Australian Government is preparing to sell. The telcos have until 24 January 2012 to lodge applications for the sale, which will include the 700MHz band and the 2.5GHz band. Telstra and Optus need the spectrum to expand their fourth-generation (4G) mobile services.
