NDC Appoints Doug Hutchison as Chief Commercial Officer

Nitinol Devices & Components (NDC) today announced the appointment of Doug Hutchison as its Chief Commercial Officer effective December 31, 2012 to oversee all of NDC's commercial activities relating to the design, development and manufacturing of medical devices using nitinol.

"We are delighted to welcome Doug to NDC to expand our sales and marketing initiatives in the U.S. and internationally in this newly created role. Doug brings a wide variety of experience with both large and small companies in commercializing innovative products in major medical device markets," said Tom Duerig, President and CEO of NDC. "We are confident that his experience will increase the number of opportunities for our extensive nitinol expertise in the design, development and manufacturing of medical devices."

Mr. Hutchison was most recently the V.P. Sales, Business Development, Customer Service & Field Technical Service for OmniGuide in Boston, MA. Previously, he served as Global Director of Marketing for Medtronic Vascular and held a number of senior sales and marketing roles at various companies including Intuitive Surgical, Genzyme Surgical and Omnisonics. He received a B.S. in Management from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy.
