BB murder case Mark Seagel refuses court appearance
(Nation (Pakistan) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) US journalist and important witness of Benazir Bhutto murder case Mark Seagel has refused to come to Pakistan due to security threats in spite of court summons to record his statement.
After his refusal, Special Public Prosecutor Chaudhry Zulfiqar submitted an application in the court on Monday that his statement might be recorded through video conference.
He said the court has a precedent in memo-gate scandal wherein the statement of Mansoor Ijaz was recorded through video conference.He told the court that Mark Seagel is an important witness and his statement will be imperative in BB's Murder case.
The court has issued notices to the lawyers of the accused to appear in the court for cross questioning on the application on January 19.
