ES3™ and Azuki Systems to Demonstrate the TumbleBooks TV Application on Multiple Screens at CES 2013
ACTON, Mass. --(Business Wire)--
Azuki
Systems, the leader in over-the-top (OTT) video delivery to any
screen over any network, anywhere, and ES3,
the forerunner in TV applications and the global premier partner for
Microsoft (News - Alert)® Mediaroom™, announced a joint demonstration at 2013
International CES®, January 8-11, 2013, in Las Vegas.
ES3 will demonstrate how the TumbleBooks
TV application, powered by the Azuki
Media Platform™, can seamlessly deliver a rich video experience
across multiple consumer electronics (CE) devices - at home and
on-the-go.
"This joint demonsration is about maximizing the user experience and
delivering higher entertainment and educational value to end-users,"
said Mike Daymond, executive director at ES3. "Azuki's innovative
technology gives us a straightforward way to take OTT content destined
for the home TV and make it seamlessly available on multiple CE devices
and smartphones."
The ES3 TumbleBooks TV application is designed to give children the
opportunity to enjoy read-along books and engage in a video book
playback experience, allowing service providers deploying Microsoft®
Mediaroom™ to generate incremental subscriber revenue via monthly
subscription, ad display areas for VOD upsells or sponsored ads.
"We're excited to demonstrate how Azuki helps ES3 integrate with
Mediaroom and extend the TumbleBooks TV experience to multiple screens
consistently and without complexity," said Bruce Lampert, vice
president, strategic alliances accounts and business development at
Azuki Systems (News - Alert). "A mother and child using TumbleBooks TV in the living
room can seamlessly resume playing the video on their tablet from the
spot they left off - and finish the story in bed."
The Azuki Media Platform enables service providers and Mediaroom
customers to deliver a compelling user experience across all screens. It
provides both Microsoft's Smooth Streaming media prep and packaging,
entitlement enforcement, content protection and delivery from
Microsoft's Azure cloud service. Also, it enables service providers to
extend Microsoft® Mediaroom™ to multiple screens with minimal
integration effort.
At CES (News - Alert) 2013, the joint demonstration includes the ES3 TumbleBooks TV
application and the Azuki Media Platform leveraging Microsoft® Windows
Azure.
